Peter is kind of a spoiled man-child who lives at home with his elder parents. On a Saturday afternoon after archery practice, his father takes him to get a job at an old friend of theirs, the Travel Agency. On his way in with his father, he notices his father has more of a connection with guys than he thought. The guys come out one by one and hug and kiss his father. At the end of the night, on his way toward his car, he witnesses the murder of his father who was waiting for him in the car. After a few weeks went by, he went back to work at the agency. On his way home he encounters a vampire. Scared to death, the vampire moves in close for the kill when a delivery truck shines a light and honks at the guys. The vampire flees the scene. Now curious, Peter heads to a bookstore to learn about vampires. He picks up a book called, "The Guide to Hunting Vampires and Other Demon-like Creatures”. On his way out he meets a girl named Lily. Later that night on his way home from work the guys pick him up and take him to the cave where the vampires lay. Right then he realizes the guys work for the vampires. They dispose of the dead bodies of all the people they kill from the parties they host. The next day, Lily from the bookstore asks him out on a date. They go to a play. Peter gets spooked when the play reveals itself to be about vampires. Peter runs out and Pete, his co-worker, is waiting for him to take him on a run to the cave for a special pick-up. At the cave they are blindfolded, but Peter can see through it. He sees some sort of initiation taking place. After they're forced away from the ceremony, they're pushed into another room where the head vampire, Dasco, is waiting for them with a wooden box. Dasco makes small talk and gives the box to Pete. Upon their exit, Milena, another vampire follows them. Peter runs into his house, terrified, he takes off his clothes and goes straight to bed. Milena enters his bedroom as Peter sleeps and bites him. Peter does not leave the house for a few days. After the bite scar goes away, Lily comes to surprise him. She offers to take him to work. Milena watches from outside his house and follows them. He lets Pete know what happened. On his way home he stops at the bookstore and Lily never made it to work. When he gets home his mom is nowhere to be found. Pete is at the cave doing a job with the rest of the mob guys and he sees Lily tied up. Milena steps out from behind the door and scares him. Pete runs out and sees some of the vampires attacking the guys. He heads straight to Peter's house to let him know what he saw. Peter grabs his archery equipment and heads to the cave with Pete. At the cave, some of the vampires attack Peter and Pete. Peter takes out vampire after vampire. When they make it into the cave, he sees Lily. After takes out a few more vampires Pete gets bit and Peter gets captured. He slowly unties the knot in the rope. As Dasco is about to kill Lily, Peter dives to his bow and arrow and shoots him right in the face. As he and Lily leave the cave, Pete stumbles out and as they're about to drive off one of the Italian men who was bitten earlier gets up and stops them. They grab him and leave the scene. The next night all the people who were killed by the vampires and not properly disposed of come back to life as Zombies.
A friend of mine came to me with the idea of doing something where the main character wears a Hawaiian shirt. I said give me a couple of days to come up with a story. I began to brainstorm. I didn't want to do my normal way of outlining only because it takes me a really long time. I knew I wanted to make these eight episodes, but I never wrote a series. I have mainly been writing short and feature screenplays. So I decided to write ten points for each episode. Each point would represent different things that happen in the story. I got really excited. The story just flowed out of me. I set up a dinner for my friend to come over so I can pitch him the story. He and his girlfriend came over. My wife made dinner and we talked. I couldn't wait to get to the story. We ate then I pitched. It didn't go as great as I planned. I could tell my friend wasn't excited as I was. I think he was looking for a Magnum, P.I. type of story. I couldn't help the idea that came out of me. It was just so naturally. The story may have not been greenlit by my friend but I at least got the story out of it. My wife's very excited and cannot wait to produce it.
